On September 18, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration of the State Council (SASAC) organized "Responsibility Creates Value and Leads the Future"--Release of CSR Reports of Central Enterprises" in Beijing. Longyuan Power was included in the "ESG · Pioneer 50 Index of Central Enterprises". Its project: Targeted Poverty Alleviation for Youyu County, Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province was selected as an ESG best practice case by SASAC's research group on the ESG Blue Book of Central-Controlled Listed Companies (2021).
This year's index contained 50 listed companies selected from 440 central-controlled listed companies by evaluating their ESG governance, social value and levels of social and environmental risk management. Longyuan Power was included in the index, ranking 15th and achieving a 4.5-star rating with 72.46 points.
Longyuan Power has performed its responsibility as a central enterprise and implemented the philosophy of ESG-oriented development. In terms of ESG structure, the company's chairman is the top responsible person for the ESG work, and the Department of Securities Affairs and Investor Relations in charge of the ESG work has released three CSR reports. In terms of social value, the company has steadily advanced targeted poverty alleviation and consolidated the outcomes of poverty reduction in Youyu County. The company has attached great importance to sci-tech innovation, improved innovation systems and mechanisms, and participated in the formulation of international standards, and kept enhancing its say and influence in the industry. Facing the sudden COVID-19 outbreak, the company made immediate response, took proactive measures and answered the call of the government by helping local sub-districts and communities conduct epidemic prevention and control and safeguard the people's livelihood. In terms of social and environmental risk control, the company has established an occupational disease prevention and control committee, and included specific evaluation indicators into the scope of safety and environmental responsibilities, thereby ensuring the sustainable and sound development of the company. The company has earnestly implemented national policies for energy conservation and emission reduction. Through carbon emission screening, carbon trading, scientific research on the emission law of coal-fired power enterprises and energy-saving transformation, the company has been committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and coping with global climate change, forging ahead towards the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
